Cannot get KJWMPost script to work [#3]

Post by cmul » Mon Oct 16, 2017 1:57 am

Hi @Holmes!

Just wanted to check on a feature in the current edition of Kibojoe (17.09rc3) with you:
I have not been able to make KJWMPost work on any of the installs that I have made to physical disc. Each time I use it, even after setting up the wifi, it says, "Connection check failed..." Am I doing something incorrectly?

It has not been any problem for me, since I simply turn to using the terminal to fix the problem - for example, installing base-devel and yaourt - but it would be good to troubleshoot this script which is intended to make every Kibojoe user's life easier. :)

Keep up the great work, and I look forward to hearing from you!

    Sincerely,

    cmul

    the problem can be this

    if wget -q --spider http://google.com &> /dev/null; then

    it will check your connection.
    here works well... ;)

the kjwmpost file is in the folder /usr/bin/kibojoe.

i'll see if i can find a standard solution!

    replace

    if wget -q --spider http://google.com &> /dev/null; then

    for

    if wget -S --spider http://google.com 2> /dev/null; then

    Hi @Holmes,

Thanks for your time on this! I did replace the line

    if wget -q --spider http://google.com &> /dev/null; then

    for

    if wget -S --spider http://google.com 2> /dev/null; then

    but the problem remains.

Do I need to reboot to see a change in the script? It is continuing to say that the connection failed.

    Wonder what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks again for your help when you have time!

    Sincerely,

    @cmul
