Kibojoe Linux 17.09rc2 is ready

Post by Holmes » Sat Sep 16, 2017 6:58 pm

I'm happy to announce our SECOND release candidate (RC2) of Kibojoe Linux (Manjaro Linux re-spin with JWM), codename MUG. So what is Kibojoe Linux? Kibo is one of three volcanic cones of Killimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (Tanzania). We adopted the name joe from Joe Wingbermuehle, the creator and maintainer of Joe's Window Manager (JWM), wrote a window manager and called it JWM to run on the X window system. This release comes with advanced graphical installer Calamares. Stable branch was used to create the install media. For more information please read the Kibojoe JWM User Orientation Guide ( Start > Support > Kibojoe > User Orientation Guide).

no, so far no problem, 100% functional system,have you discovered the cause of this problem?

TLP comes with a default configuration already optimized for battery life, so you may just install and forget it

now is this the problem? I do not use notebook, desktop only, should that be why I got this problem?

@holmes, I can echo @overlock in noting that I have had this system cleanly running on a desktop computer for two days now without any issues.

Thanks for a great release!

Sincerely,

-cmul

I'm having a problem downloading iso from kibojoe rc2, normal low, but did not match md5sum, and at the time of installing lock at 25% and does not open anything, browser, terminal, had to exit by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del, the what can it be?

@overlock,
it will only work when you have a battery...
when it does not, i believe, it will not work...

Yes, I tried several times, the md5sum does not crash, I did the installation using rc1, and I updated, by rc2 I can not, in live mode everything works ok, but when I try to install that problem, it does not leave 25% nothing works, terminal, browser, nothing, nor the reboot, shutdown, nothing.
